The Association of Southeastern State Park Directors recently held its annual conference, gathering State Park Directors and senior leadership from across the Southeast to share ideas and strategies that enhance the experiences of over 186 million visitors to state parks each year. Dungan Engineering proudly attended, showcasing our work and connecting with both new contacts and long-time clients.
The conference featured a diverse lineup of speakers from across Mississippi, covering essential topics such as the history of Mississippi State Parks, economic development, and presentations from sponsors. Attendees also enjoyed visits to museums in Jackson and tours of two state parks, where they witnessed the exciting progress in the new era of Mississippi State Parks.
With offices in Brookhaven, Columbia, Picayune, and McComb, Dungan Engineering delivers a range of complex services to state agencies, local governments, utility providers, and national firms, all while maintaining a “good neighbor” attitude in the communities we serve.
A highlight of the conference was the celebration of the Percy Quin Bridge, designed by Dungan Engineering, in a special “lock bridge” ceremony at Percy Quin State Park. With added fencing, the bridge now invites park guests to secure their “locks of love” along its span, making it a unique and memorable attraction.
Our work at Percy Quin State Park extends beyond the bridge. Dungan has partnered with the park on critical infrastructure improvements, including implementing wastewater collection and conveyance systems, replacing the spillway bridge, and enhancing the entrance road to boost park tourism and accessibility.
We are proud to support the mission of state parks and contribute to the infrastructure that enhances these treasured outdoor spaces. We look forward to continued partnerships with park directors and clients, building infrastructure that keeps public lands accessible, enjoyable, and sustainable for generations to come.
