Description:

At Dungan Engineering we were excited to be chosen to provide engineering services for The Yards, a sports complex in Columbia, Mississippi. We teamed with WBA Architecture, an industry leader in sports facility design to provide these services. The unique configuration of the facility provides adequate space for the huge crowds that frequent the facility on a regular basis. The complex has 6 total fields. Three of these fields will accommodate baseball and softball leagues up to age 12 with synthetic turf infields with subsurface drainage so that games can be played shortly after a fairly substantial rain. The three larger fields can accommodate teams through junior high schools with the largest of the three being a regulation size High School Baseball field also with synthetic turf. Each field has its own covered seating area so that the spectators can get out of the sun and rain. centrally located to the facility is a common area with Concession and Restroom Building, areas for food trucks, a synthetic turf mound for sliding, and a synthetic turf mini field for kids to play. The complex also features a batting cage facility with six independent batting cages. We had the pleasure of working with Codaray Construction on the execution of the project, and we are honored this project was a 2023 Mississippi Associated Builders and Contractors Silver Merit Award Winner. The Yards has hosted numerous youth tournaments that have brought in teams from states as far away as Texas and Oklahoma, making a significant economic impact on the area.

Dungan Engineering is proud to be a part of this project in the City of Columbia!
